  • 03Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, New York College of Podiatric Medicine
  • 04Surgical residency, three-year residency in the Bronx, New York; served as chief resident

  • 06Practice, Pearl Foot & Ankle, Portland (2026); previously 7+ years in practice in the Atlanta area

Dr. Grace Yang is a board-certified foot & ankle surgeon who spent 7+ years in practice in the Atlanta area before joining Pearl. Her training carried her from Emory University in Atlanta, to her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, and on to a highly surgical fellowship back at Emory University Saint Joseph Hospital.

Her practice emphasizes education, prevention, and personalized treatment plans built around each patient’s goals and lifestyle. That means explaining what is actually going on in plain language, starting with conservative options where they make sense, and being clear about what surgery would and would not solve, so the decision is yours to make with real information.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Yang enjoys baking, workout classes, pilates, and trying out new restaurants.

An experienced surgeon joins the Pearl team

Pearl Foot & Ankle brought Dr. Yang on to expand access for new patients across Beaverton, Cedar Mill, Bethany, and Portland. She brings 7+ years of practice experience from the Atlanta area, joined Pearl in August 2026, and practices alongside founder Dr. Timothy Mineo, so you get a surgical team behind your care, not a single provider.

What to expect

Your first visit, step by step

No rushing, no guesswork. Here is how a first appointment with Dr. Yang works, so you know what to expect before you arrive.

1

We listen first

You will walk us through what is going on and what matters to you, before any exam. Your time, your story.

2

A thorough exam, explained

Dr. Yang examines your foot and ankle and explains what she is seeing in plain language, not medical jargon.

3

Prevention, not just treatment

She will cover what is driving the problem and how to keep it from coming back, alongside treating what hurts today.

4

A clear plan you choose

You leave with a plan you understand, conservative options first where appropriate, and a straight answer on what surgery would and would not fix.

Minimally invasive surgery

Do I qualify for minimally invasive surgery? Dr. Yang can answer that at your consultation.

Dr. Yang is trained in and offers minimally invasive foot & ankle surgery, an approach still uncommon in the Portland area. Working through smaller incisions means less disruption to the surrounding soft tissue, and for appropriate cases, a typically faster recovery.

Not every foot or ankle problem is suited to a minimally invasive approach; severity and joint condition matter, and candidacy is determined at your consultation. Results may vary and no specific outcome is guaranteed. If you have been told you need traditional surgery, you are welcome to ask whether a minimally invasive option fits your case.

What does “fellowship-trained” actually mean?

What is minimally invasive foot & ankle surgery, and am I a candidate?

Minimally invasive techniques correct foot and ankle problems through smaller incisions, which for appropriate candidates can mean less soft-tissue disruption and a typically faster recovery. Not every case is suited to it; severity and joint condition matter, and candidacy is determined at a consultation with Dr. Yang. Results vary by individual. Call (503) 284-2000 and we will help you find out whether you qualify.
